Yuusuke Yotsuya hates Tokyo and its inhabitants, choosing instead to lose himself in a virtual world instead of socializing. One day, while watching Iu Shindou and Kusue Hakozaki talk, they suddenly disappear, and Yotsuya finds himself in a fantastical new world. In this world, he must face giant beasts and complete a mission with Shindou and Hakozaki within two weeks. Death is not permanent in this virtual world, as individuals can revive within thirty seconds as long as one team member is left alive. As they take on more complex challenges, the trio searches for the real truth of this labyrinthine game world.
