This dual showcase presents Gunbuster and Die Buster (also known as Gunbuster 2) combined as a singular cinematic release divided into two parts with a musical break in between. The initial segment, Gunbuster the Movie, compresses the six episodes of the primary OVA into a 95-minute film incorporating a fresh 5.1 sound remix and a redub from the authentic Japanese cast. The subsequent segment, Die Buster the Movie, blends sizable portions of the second OVA series with some adjusted or innovatively animated scenes to construct a shortened rendition of Nono's narrative.
