Agetarou Katsumata has a dream of being a tonkatsu chef by day and a professional DJ by night. He works at his family's small tonkatsu shop in Shibuya but one night, he delivers an order to a nightclub and gets invited inside. He falls in love with the atmosphere, dancing girls, flashing lights, and groovy music. Agetarou starts visiting the club regularly until he meets a legendary American DJ named Big Master Fly. During his show, Agetarou has an epiphany - the groove of mixing music is similar to preparing tonkatsu. He decides to become a master of both disciplines. Agetarou receives help from his neighborhood friends and his mentor DJ Oily, as he pursues his dream while dealing with familial problems, love issues, and many other kinds of trouble. Tonkatsu DJ Agetarou is a hilarious tale of an impulsive young boy trying to find his own path while still fulfilling his familial and social responsibilities.
