On a scorching summer day in Kyoto, a young man fantasizes about cooling off with his air conditioner as he walks towards his apartment. However, his plans are foiled when Ozu spills soda on the remote, rendering it useless. The intense heat of August now bearing down on them, the man and his friends must endure their unease. Just as they begin to lose hope, they discover a bona fide time machine in their storage room. Entranced by the idea of revisiting the past to retrieve the remote before it's ruined, they impulsively take the plunge. Little do they realize the grave consequences that accompany their impulse. What ensues is a breathtaking escapade that takes them by surprise.
