Leaving the convenience store was not something Subaru Natsuki anticipated would transport him to a mystical realm. Feeling bewildered and apprehensive, he soon finds himself in even greater trouble when he gets attacked by some hooligans. Without anyone to turn to and nothing but his groceries and broken cellphone, he is helplessly beaten. Luckily, a striking and noble woman named Satella comes to his aid while chasing after the thief who stole her crest. Subaru feels immensely grateful and volunteers to help her find her emblem. Soon, they locate the lost symbol but their joy is short-lived as an obscure yet ominous predator begins stalking them from the shadows. Within minutes of their discovery, both Subaru and Satella are ruthlessly murdered. To his amazement, Subaru finds himself reliving the same chilling sequence of events, encountering the same gang, and running into Satella once more. The unexplained repetition of events only adds to the mystery surrounding his current situation.
