Initially, Nura Rikuo appears to be an average middle school student. However, he is actually the descendant of Nurarihyon, the leader of a group of supernatural beings known as youkai. Despite recently overcoming tensions between his own clan and the Shikoku Yokai, Rikuo's peace is short-lived when an old adversary of the Nura Clan, Haguromo-Gitsune, unexpectedly reappears after 400 years.
