In this realm, both humanity and beasts coexist. Those that pursue and eliminate these creatures go by the name of Hunters. However, within a small sector of Hunter territory lies a group called Riders who form a bond and live harmoniously amongst the monsters. Using Bonding Stones, known as Kizuna Ishi, Riders are able to awaken a monster's hidden potential and live in secrecy alongside their Otomon who they share a special bond with. Ryuto, a young boy from the Rider village of Hakum, aspires to become the greatest Rider in the world. Upon reaching the age of 12, he embarks on a journey to find an Otomon of his own before receiving his very own Kizuna Ishi. Joining him on this expedition are his compassionate childhood friend Cheval, inquisitive playmate Lilia, and his trusty partner Naville. Delving deep into the forest, their adventure takes an incredible turn upon encountering a Rathalos.
