Ezaki Yuuichi is currently hospitalized after contracting hepatitis A, causing him great distress as he is separated from his loved ones. To combat his boredom, he often sneaks out of the hospital, much to the disapproval of his nurse. However, his curiosity is peaked when he meets a girl his age also receiving treatment at the facility, Akiba Rika. Despite Rika's stunning looks, her personality is less than desirable, marked by her selfishness, temperamental behavior, and dominant nature. With more time spent together, their bond grows, experiencing the highs and lows of young love, even though the looming shadow of a tragic loss casts a shadow over them, as Rika's medical condition leaves little time for her to live.
