Ikebukuro, a crime-ridden district that serves as the backdrop of numerous urban mystery novels, is home to Makoto Majima. Despite being an infamous safe haven for ruthless gangs and the notorious Yakuza, Makoto takes on the role of a charismatic peacemaker, playing mediator in the feuds that erupt between the warring factions whilst also tackling issues the police fail to address, all in the name of protecting his loved ones. However, a surge in brutality shatters Makoto's peaceful world, leading to the loss of someone close to him.
