Centuries ago, the boundaries between the human and youkai realms briefly merged, causing many residents from both worlds to cross over. Since then, Sakurashin has become a central hub for inter-dimensional affairs due to the Seven Pillars and the efforts of the Hiizumi Life Counseling Office. The office is led by Hime Yarizakura, the young mayor; Ao Nanami, a satori with telepathic abilities; Kotoha Isone, a half-youkai who can summon anything; Kyousuke and Touka Kishi, oni siblings; and Akina Hiizumi, the office director with the inherited family gift to repel youkai. Aside from their volunteer work, the Life Counseling Office also deals with Strikes - rare events where humans with youkai powers go on a chaotic spree. When a shadowy figure emerges, however, Strikes become more frequent, political rivals start to make moves, and malevolent individuals converge upon the city.
