Lina and Gourry, depleted of the Sword of Light from their prior skirmish, set off to find a substitute weapon. Along the way, they chance upon Amelia and Zelgadis in the realm of Luvinagard whilst baiting some pirates. Lina is beside herself with joy to be reunited with her companions from days gone by, however, the Inspector of the Special Investigative Unit for Luvinagard, Wizer, suddenly presents himself to her. Lina is taken aback by his peculiar demeanor.
