At the beginning of the story, the small country of Azuelgatt is suddenly attacked by the Kingdom of Noigllado, putting its very existence in peril. Leading the charge for Noigllado is General Adnowell, as his troops march towards Doroah, the last stronghold of Azuelgatt. This fortress is under the capable command of Shamshir, a skilled female warrior.
