Sable may have the lowest grades at the Royal Magic Academy in the Kingdom of Wenias, but he eagerly accepts Headmaster Albus' special training regimen in the south. With no memories of his past, he teams up with Roux Cristasse, the Dawn Witch, Holt, a human girl with antlers, and Kudd, a lizard Beastfallen, to establish a village of witches in a region where anti-witch sentiment still prevails. On their journey, they avoid former members of the Dia Ignis Arbiters—witch hunters notorious for killing both witches and civilians. Despite the organization's disbandment and amnesty with the end of the war between the Church and witches, its members still linger, ready to capture any mages they come across. Luckily, with Roux's Staff of Ludens, aka the "witch-eater," and Sable's endless magic supply, they might just complete their task for Albus. Failure would result in Sable losing his memories of magic and the academy, leaving him with no guidance towards the silver-haired mage who rescued him years ago.
