Despite his position as the heir to the Masaki Shrine, Masaki Tenchi lived an unremarkable life until he accidentally broke the seal imprisoning a demon in a nearby shrine. The consequences were immediate, pitting him against the revived Ryoko in combat. The conflict soon escalated as Ayeka arrived on Earth upon learning of Ryoko's resurrection. These events ultimately drew Tenchi into the affairs of the powerful Jurai clan, which governed the galaxy.
