The inspiration for this spinoff stems from SEGA's Nintendo DS RPG game, which hit the gaming market in Japan during July of 2008. Kyrie resides in a peculiar world where the ruling beastman consider humans as their source of sustenance and sand fulfills the critical roles of both water and fire. To bring this world to an end, Kyrie is brought onto the "World Destruction Committee," who recognizes his exceptional abilities. Kyrie is the only one who possesses the power to accomplish this task.
