During the Edo era's end, several individuals were keen on toppling the Tokugawa shogunate. Shinjuro Tateoka, the unassuming son of a renowned dojo leader, took charge when his father, Tessyusai, was suddenly sent on a mission by the shogunate. The dojo lost most of its regular patrons, so Shinjuro permitted young women to train there.
Despite the changes, life at the swordsmanship institution remained peaceful until the shogunate ordered well-known dojos to patrol the city due to a string of burglaries. Shinjuro struggled to balance his enchanting life with beautiful women and the government's demands when facing a group of cunning thieves with grander aspirations than pilfering.
