After surviving a vampire attack, Koyomi Araragi grows anxious about the unusual behavior exhibited by his friend and savior Tsubasa Hanekawa, who has a bandage on her face. She dismisses his concerns by citing an injury she sustained at home. Later, they come across a white, tailless cat that gets hit by a car and decide to bury it together. Araragi's worries mount when he consults Meme Oshino, only to learn that the apparition they buried matches Hanekawa's symptoms. He embarks on a quest to locate her and finds out that the "Sawari Neko" has taken over her body, causing her to attack her own parents. Now, it's up to Araragi to repay his debt by saving Hanekawa.
