While on a mission to search for a missing person, Kakashi Hatake finds himself caught in a questionable trap and separated from his pupils Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno, prompting unforeseen events. Adding to the mayhem, the team is suddenly ambushed by cryptic ninjas that take Sakura captive, compelling Naruto and Sasuke to embark on a mission to rescue her. Despite Sasuke's disturbing revelation regarding the operation, the two boys resolve to engage in a hazardous fight, with the goal of reuniting the squad and accomplishing the mission successfully.
