Sakon Tachibana, a puppeteer with dark hair, is accompanied by his beloved friend Ukon, a child doll puppet. Ukon happens to be Sakon's favorite puppet. Saemon Tachibana happens to be Sakon's grandfather and the sole heir to the legacy of Bunraku puppet manipulation, which is a national treasure of Japan. While Ukon was created by the renowned female dollmaker Unosuke during the early Meiji era. The two of them employ their skills, running into murder cases and detecting the culprits.
