Living in a rural area of Japan, Hinako struggles with speech and desires to develop better communication skills to converse with individuals with ease. Consequently, she relocates to Tokyo in search of improvement and decides to participate in a theater club during her high school years. Upon arrival, she discovers that her lodging location is a used bookstore with a peculiar guest who enjoys consuming books.
