SUMMARY
Hayate Ayasaki's existence seems to embody Murphy's Law - everything that could go awry simply does. His parents' debt of over 150 million yen leaves Hayate with no option but to avoid being caught by the yakuza. A chance encounter with Nagi Sanzenin leads him to attempt to abduct her as a means of paying his family's debts. However, Nagi misconstrues this act as a declaration of love due to a sequence of misunderstandings and Hayate's compassionate nature. Hayate ends up rescuing her from a genuine kidnapping, which results in him becoming Nagi's personal butler, despite her belonging to one of the wealthiest families in Japan. Hayate's continual misfortune poses a challenge as he fulfills his duties while confronting the numerous misfortunes that beset him. Managing a large residence, evading perilous adversaries, and unintentionally winning the affection of the women in his life keeps Hayate engrossed in comedic bedlam in the Hayate no Gotoku! series.
