When the news of the disappearance of various bird species reached them, Nobita and his friends gathered at Shizuka's house. Nobita speculated that winged creatures had taken them and became fixated on the idea of flying himself. He built mechanical wings and during a test flight, encountered a real winged creature emerging from a time-space distortion. The creature, named Gusuke, sought their help, and when they obliged, they were drawn into the distortion and transported to Birdpia - the world of winged creatures.
