The Divine Gate legend is a fable aimed at educating youngsters about the unification of three domains – the living world, the heavens and the underworld. The World Council, governed by the "Adapters," individuals bestowed with exceptional elemental abilities via the fusion of these realms, manages the Gate's anarchy by disguising its legend as an old wives' tale. The Council owns a specialized academy for Adapters' training, where they can master their skills. Aoto, a youth blessed with extraordinary water mastery, and haunted by his tragic past, repudiates the Council's admissions proposal many times. However, his reluctance fades away upon being pressured by Midori, a lively wind user, and Akane, an unbending fire user. Accompanied by the World Council, under the shroud of their enigmatic leader Arthur, they embark on a quest to unveil the truth of the Gate. Nevertheless, their success depends on their cooperation and determination to conquer their personal demons while tackling the insurgence of hidden enemies.
