In August of 2000, The Di Gi Charat Summer Special was broadcasted across four episodes on August 22 and 23. The introduction of a new character named Piyoko was featured in this series, as it followed her plot to kidnap Dejiko in exchange for a ransom. Episode 1 of this series was titled "Pyoko-nyo Arrives!", while episode 2 was called "The Black Gamers-nyo Strike". Episode 3 was known as "Abarenbou's Comeback", and episode 4 was titled "The Summer Insect".
