Makoto Naegi and his fellow survivors from Hope's Peak Academy escaped and joined the Future Foundation, but they are accused of betrayal when they come to the defense of a group of Remnants of Despair. This lands them in hot water as they face an unknown fate, arrested and put on trial before the Future Foundation's executives. To add to their troubles, Monokuma hacks into the organization's impenetrable security and announces a new killing game, with Naegi and his friends in the thick of it. This time, there are no class trials, just a desperate race to uncover the one remaining killer among them before the game's fiery conclusion.
