From that day forward, the energetic canine became a dependable source of encouragement for her devoted owner, Nao Hatori. The pair frequently journeyed to the nearby park, hoping to run into Hatori's crush, Yamato Arima, and his loyal companion, Happy. But when Arima was surrounded by admiring female peers, Hatori was left feeling abandoned. To make matters worse, Chocotan lost her power of speech, leaving her unable to console her heartbroken human.
