An additional 12.5 episode that was not aired will be included in the seventh volume of Ookiku Furikabutte ~Natsu no Taikai Hen~ on DVD & Blu-ray, as announced by HMV. Mizushima, the director, explained in his blog that this special was made to incorporate elements from the original manga that could not be accommodated in the TV series timeline between episodes 12 and 13.
