A midway episode within the TV series features Yumiko who doubts Misa's capability of imparting adequate magic skills to Koyomi, who is still only able to summon washbasins. In an attempt to counteract the ineffective Modern Magic teaching, Yumiko takes it upon herself to educate Koyomi in Classical Magic.
