In 1663, Lu Changfeng, the youngest leader of the Ming dynasty's navy, was tasked with escorting an official to apprehend criminals. However, they were attacked by a fleet of ghosts and sea creatures, resulting in the envoy's demise. Fortunately, Lu Changfeng was rescued by a mysterious girl from the depths of the ocean and followed her to Luzon, the international hub of commerce during the Age of Sail. Luzon was responsible for over 70% of the Ming dynasty's silver, making it a crucial island with the power to determine the fate of several nations. The Spanish settlers ruled with extreme cruelty, but under the direction of Song Yingxing, people from all walks of life built the Kingdom of Wan, an international financial center. Despite their disagreements, Lu Changfeng joined Song Yingxing's team, known as 天工, to fight against the Spanish settlers alongside others. Both factions utilized the latest technological inventions in their battles. To counter Vesalius, the enemy genius and his weapon, Song Yingxing manipulated Lu Changfeng by reminding him of their past encounters in Korea, among other things.
