The main character in the storyline is Ayumu Banri, a high school student suffering from an illness that causes him to turn to stone when under stress. Due to his inability to blend in with his classmates, despite repeating a year, he aspires to have a dazzling teenage life. Ayumu adopts a new wardrobe and hairstyle and consistently keeps up with trending topics. Amid his pursuit to conceal his true self, his homeroom teacher and geology instructor, Kouya Onihara, who has a passion for stones, finds Ayumu's petrification to be alluring. As Kouya begins to advise Ayumu, the youngster develops feelings for him.
