At the onset of turmoil, the globe was partitioned into three domains: the realm of divine beings, the realm of humankind, and the realm of fiends. The domain of divine beings dispatched a spirit seed, intended to assist the ordinary folk. However, the spirit seed assimilated the corruption of the world, causing cruel harm to living beings. Eventually, Sen Luo, the king of divine beings, made a selfless sacrifice and imprisoned it. Yet, as a result, the Shangqing Xianmen - the abode of divine beings - slowly dwindled, eventually passing into obscurity. A millennium later, the remnants of Shangqing Xianmen emerged in a series of discoveries. The major sects scrambled to claim the riches within the ruins, fighting tooth and nail.
