Mary Lennox was not dealt a fair hand in life, but every child should have the opportunity to enjoy a carefree childhood. Tragically, Mary lost both parents to an illness when she was very young and was taken to England by her new guardian, her uncle. Although grateful for the newfound security of shelter and food, Mary's uncle was very reserved which often left her feeling lonely and uninspired, dwelling on the past. One day, she stumbled upon a secret garden near her home and discovered new friends in Dicon and Martha, as well as her disabled cousin, Collin. Together, they set out to explore the wonders of this hidden oasis, determined to breathe new life into their routine and reignite Mary's joy for life.
