Ryuta and his science club friends stumbled upon an intriguing concept by Thomas Edison, known as the "spirit phone," at a museum exhibition. This idea could potentially facilitate communication with the deceased. Later on, they encounter a shaman who claims to have received a message from Edison. With the guidance acquired from the encounter, Ryuta feels driven to construct the device and embark on a spiritual expedition.
