The infamous Demon Lord, Satan, aimed to conquer Ente Isla with his demonic army. However, his plans were thwarted by the heroic Emilia's fierce opposition. Forced to flee through a portal, Satan and his devoted general, Alsiel, found themselves stranded in modern-day Tokyo sans their magical powers. In order to keep going, Satan assumed the guise of Sadao Maou and scored a job at a fast-food chain. Gradually, his goal turned from subduing Ente Isla to dominating Earth's corporate hierarchy. Hataraku Maou-sama! humorously depicts Satan's struggle with daily life's challenges as he tries to make it to the top.
