Lu Bixing and Lin Jingheng are the main characters of the series, who find themselves trapped in a futuristic dystopian society. Eden, a mind-link technology, governs the world and segregates a tiny fraction of the population - one in every hundred - as "defective" outcasts, who are unable to connect with it. In their fight against this oppressive system, the two drastically different individuals join forces.
