After a prolonged absence, In-hye and Sun-mi return to their serene countryside hometown, only to receive jarring news: their dear friend Eun-sil passed away during childbirth. The village is in disarray as the father of the newborn remains unknown and no one is looking after the child. In-hye and Sun-mi, aided by Ji-young, a steadfast friend still living in the area, vow to safeguard the infant. As they endeavor to fulfill this obligation, they uncover a tragic truth: Eun-sil, who was intellectually disabled, was mistreated and shunned by the villagers. In-hye and Sun-mi are wracked with both fury towards the townspeople and remorse for their own past treatment of Eun-sil. Can they overcome their own guilt and defend the child until the very end?
