Chise Hatori, a 15-year-old Japanese girl, was the subject of a winning bid by a tall stranger at an auction. This masked gentleman offered five million pounds for her, a young woman who had experienced abandonment in her youth and was often ridiculed for her atypical behavior. Despite her situation, Chise hoped for a place to belong and was willing to sell herself for it. As she was being taken away in chains, hooded figures muttered their dissatisfaction with her rare Sleigh Beggy heritage being obtained by such a buyer. The unidentified man disregarded their complaints and, upon arriving at his study, revealed himself as a magus named Elias Ainsworth. Although there was a minor confrontation and some teleportation magic occurred, Chise and Elias arrived together at his beautiful countryside cottage in England. They were greeted by otherworldly creatures and the kindness of fairy folk. This marked the beginning of Chise's journey as an apprentice and future wife of the ancient magus.
