Zwei Wing is the successful idol duo consisting of Tsubasa Kazanari and Kanade Amou. They use their songs to power symphogears, powerful ancient weapons, to fight the deadly alien race known as "Noise." Though the general public knows about the existence of the Noise, the knowledge of symphogears remains classified. During one of Zwei Wing's concerts, the Noise attack and Kanade sacrifices herself to save Hibiki Tachibana, a young girl, leaving Tsubasa deeply saddened, and a piece of her symphogear remains embedded within Hibiki. Two years pass, and Hibiki once again finds herself caught up in a Noise attack. She discovers that she has the power of Kanade's symphogear within her as she saves a young girl left behind during the evacuation. While Tsubasa still mourns the loss of Kanade, both girls must find a way to work together and use their abilities to protect humanity from the Noise.
