In a school brimming with exceptionally gifted individuals called Hope's Peak Academy, Nagito Komaeda stands out as an average young man devoid of charisma or outstanding aptitude, save for his shocking streak of misfortune. Every venture, even mundane activities like commuting to school, results in a series of unfortunate incidents that mount up as the day progresses. In spite of this, Komaeda lives an unremarkable existence and finds contentment in his simple way of life. However, everything takes a turn when an enigmatic "Destroyer of the World" enters the scene, bent on destroying this desolate utopia.
