Kraft Lawrence, a traveling merchant, and his companion, the wolf deity Holo, join Norah Arendt for dinner after she assisted them in smuggling gold. Holo's animosity toward Norah, stemming from both her occupation and proximity to Lawrence, spoils her dining experience. Overtaken by exhaustion, Holo becomes sick, prompting Lawrence to provide her with attentive care while worrying over her well-being. As Holo recovers her strength, she fondly recalls their joint escapades.
