Long ago, humans and demons lived in harmony until the demons turned on their human counterparts. In an effort to release Gyumao, a once-jailed villain, the demons became hostile. Genjo Sanzo, a holy man turned rebel, teamed up with three demons- Sha Gojyo, Son Goku, and Cho Hakkai- for a perilous journey to the western world. The crew's mission was to defeat the demonic plan, stop Gyumao’s revival, and restore balance between the two species on Earth.
