Pikachu and Piplup were released by their trainers to play, but they mistakenly wandered off with a Skitty into an unfamiliar dimension, leaving behind their fellow Pokémon. They were accompanied unknowingly by Croagunk, a Pokémon belonging to Team Rocket, and a Marill who longed for an audience for her singing.
