As a result of the economic downturn in 2008, numerous factories in China were compelled to cease operations. Among those impacted was Zhang Xiaojun, who was let go from his employment at a shoe manufacturing plant. One day, while visiting a supermarket, he was wrongly accused of theft by a security guard and subjected to physical assault. Despite his efforts to seek financial compensation from the store's manager, his attempts proved futile. Disheartened, Zhang's ultimate dream was to return to his hometown and pursue farming. However, his plans were thwarted when he was arrested by the police shortly before his departure. Meanwhile, the supermarket manager was also facing his own share of problems. On a clear evening, the various storylines coincided in a teahouse located near the city rampart under the bright moonlight.
