Shiori started her academic expedition in first grade, and she was introduced to the feared enemy of every student – homework. Despite her apprehension, she became enthusiastic when the Asahigaoka girls decided to team up and work on their assignments at the Koshigaya sisters' house. Their plan worked flawlessly until Natsumi gave in to procrastination and made a commotion. On another occasion, Natsumi asked her teacher, Kazuho Miyauchi, to guide a new badminton club at school. Even though the team lacked the necessary funds and equipment, Natsumi and her colleagues approached the candy store owner, Kaede Kagayama, for help. While practicing badminton spontaneously, Kaede reminisced about a memorable day when she babysat Renge Miyauchi, triggered by a minor mishap.
