This love story can only be witnessed in a brief movie exhibited exclusively at the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka. It tells the story of Mon Mon, a water spider that goes up and down the water body to collect pockets of air every day. One fateful day, Mon Mon comes across a female water strider elegantly gliding on the surface of the water. Instantly, Mon Mon falls head over heels for her. On solitary evenings by the marsh, Mon Mon contemplates his deep infatuation for the water strider. Is there a possibility that his love will be requited?
