As Kobayashi prepared to leave for work, she was taken aback by the sight of a dragon's head peering at her from the balcony outside her apartment. However, she quickly realized that it was actually Tooru, a young girl dressed in a maid uniform, who had transformed before her eyes. The night before, while under the influence of alcohol, Kobayashi had invited Tooru to stay with her, and now the dragon girl was dutifully performing her maid duties in exchange. Despite feeling uncertain about the arrangement, Kobayashi was impressed by Tooru's remarkable dragon abilities and gave her permission to stay. Nevertheless, Kobayashi struggled to adjust to Tooru's unorthodox cleaning techniques, which sometimes created more problems than they solved. Additionally, Tooru's arrival on Earth appeared to be linked to a web of complicated emotions and painful memories that she harbored. As a result, her presence attracted other mythical creatures with strange quirks. Though Kobayashi tried to adapt to this new lifestyle as best she could, the reality was that she was woefully unprepared to live with a dragon maid.
