Upon leaping onto a train, Nishi reunites with his long-lost love Myon, only to witness her ankle crushed between the subway doors. Despite her engagement to another man, Nishi cannot deny his deep affection for her. But when the Yakuza attempt to harm Myon, Nishi loses his life trying to protect her.
Afterward, Nishi encounters a chameleon-like god who taunts him about his tragic fate. The god presents Nishi with the option to disappear from existence through a portal, but Nishi refuses and decides to return to his life. With newfound knowledge of the impending danger, Nishi successfully thwarts the Yakuza and flees with Myon and her sister in a stolen car.
