The syndicate known as Direct Attack (DA) has greatly reduced the number of terrorist acts in Japan through their efforts. Their "Lycoris" program trains orphaned girls to become highly trained killers for their organization while being cost-effective. One of their most exceptional Lycoris, Takina Inoue, is a perfectionist with well-defined objectives. However, Takina's insubordination during a hostage situation causes her to be transferred out of DA, resulting in her arrival at a secret undercover cafe operation called LycoReco. Takina's initial expectations of her new partner, Chisato Nishikigi, are soon shattered. Despite being a renowned Lycoris prodigy, Chisato doesn't seem interested in fulfilling her responsibilities. Instead, she has Takina perform various duties, claiming that they are helping those in need. To Takina's surprise, Chisato disarms attackers without harming them, leaving her feeling confused and frustrated being outside of her comfort zone. While Takina strives to rejoin DA, Chisato is determined to show her that life has more value than just taking it.
