Helper androids are common and versatile gadgets by 2039. When Keiichiro loses his family in a car accident and quits his band, he discovers an old android while searching through garbage. Despite being told that it cannot be repaired, he brings it home and is surprised to find it cooking breakfast for him the next day. This marks the beginning of a summer where a memory-less android and a directionless boy bond over their shared existence.
