A recap episode showcasing footage from episodes 48 and beyond, supplemented with pre-recorded audio was produced. The idea behind this special was to present a potential ending for Eureka Seven that the show's creators had envisioned. In March 2012, Studio BONES took the existing footage from the TV series and paired it with new audio that had not previously been released. The audio for Episode 51 tells the tale of Eureka being required to embark on a journey to distribute seven pieces of her soul throughout the land to pacify it. In the final moments of the episode, Renton and Eureka are forced apart, but Renton vows that they will be together again one day, regardless of what the future holds. Notably, Episode 51 has nothing to do with the sequel series Eureka Seven AO and is instead a real ending that was ultimately shelved for the show's original run. Eureka Seven AO resumes the story from Episode 50: Wish Upon a Star.
